  • Design and balance power and difficulty curves across the game.

  • Design meta-progression features such as persistent upgrade paths.

  • Functional design of UI.

  • Coordinate tasks between programming, art, sound and writing.

  • Playtest the game.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of tactical and roguelike gameplay design principles, theories and trends.

  • Great writing, presenting and team communication skills.

  • Wide knowledge of gaming, game design and popular culture, with a special focus on roguelikes and turn-based tactical games (XCOM, Slay the Spire, The Banner Saga, etc).

  • Great problem solving skills.

  • A passion for creating and playing games.

  • Experience in game balancing.

  • Self driven and capable of working with little supervision.

  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken).

Bonus points:

  • Finished personal/indie game projects.

  • A degree in video game design or a related field.

  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4 or 5.

  • Experience with agile methodology.

What we offer:

  • Join a challenging but exciting project set in a well-known universe (project not publicly announced yet).

  • Work with cutting edge technology - Unreal Engine 5.

  • A friendly, relaxed work culture in a flat studio structure.

  • Opportunities to learn and grow as well as help others hone their skills.

  • A competitive salary and perks package.

  • Relocation assistance.

  • Flexible work hours: you can choose a 6, 7 or 8 hour work day model.

  • Flexible work location: on-site (in Zagreb), hybrid office/work-from-home (3+2 model) or fully remote (based on individual circumstances).
